5 Questions Joliet Residents Ask About Cabinet Refacing

What, Precisely, Is Kitchen Cabinet Refacing?

Cabinet refacing is an outstanding option for homeowners who want to beautify their kitchen quickly and for great value. Explore our cabinet refacing designs here.

How Much Does Cabinet Restyling Cost In Joliet?

Refacing your cabinets will cost you much more budget-friendly than cabinet replacement and full kitchen remodeling. And if you watch to stretch your dollars even further, check out our excellent financing and specials!

How Long Will It Take To Reface My Kitchen Cabinets?

Just a few days, even for substantially sized kitchens. This makes cabinet refacing much more convenient than cabinet replacement and full kitchen remodeling, which can take weeks to months.

Even with large kitchens, cabinet refacing can be done in just a few days. Compare that to the MONTHS it can take kitchen remodeling, and you’ll appreciate how convenient refacing is.

Do You Offer Other Kitchen Upgrades In Addition To Cabinet Refacing?

Yes, we do! While we’re restyling your cabinets, we can perform any of the following to your kitchen…

  • Handle minor reconfigurations
    • Sliding drawers
    • Pull-out drawers
    • Pull-out trash caddies
    • Lazy Susans
    • And more!

Is Cabinet Refacing The Right Kitchen Renovation For Me?

In many instances, a home’s current kitchen cabinets are structurally sound. The actual issue is that they look outdated or worn on the surface. It’s the PRESENTATION that needs an upgrade—not the underlying framework.

If that’s the case with your kitchen cabinets, cabinet refacing is a fantastic option. It requires substantially less time and cost than full-scale kitchen remodeling. It’s also much more cost-effective and quicker than actually replacing your cabinets.

What Makes Joliet Unique?

Joliet is an amazing city filled with history, culture, and plenty of recreation and shopping. It’s also only about forty-five minutes away from Chicago, giving residents and visitors alike plenty of options. According to 2020 census data, Joliet is the third-largest city in Illinois. From Harriet’s Hollywood Casino to the Forest Preserve District, there’s something for everyone!

History Of Joliet

The history of Joliet begins all the way back in 1673! Famous explorer Louis Jolliet, as well as his compatriot Father Jacques Marquette, were going up the Des Plaines River. They stopped on a large earthen mound to camp, and their maps had shown this mound labeled as Mont Joliet. While in the current day this mound has been flattened due to mining, it’s still incredible how far back the name of the city goes! However, the name has had a rocky history!

In 1833, after the Black Hawk War, the area that would one day become Joliet was settled by Charles Reed and James B. Cambell. They both built cabins along the river, with each one on a different side of the Des Plaines. James B. Cambell laid out the village of “Juliet”, corrupting the original name of the area. The village would be incorporated as Juliet in 1837, just before the Great Depression. However, it would soon after become unincorporated to save money on taxes. In 1845, “Juliet” would regain its original name, Joliet. And then, in 1852 Joliet would finally be incorporated as a city.

Things To Do In Joliet

Joliet is home to many shopping areas and eateries. In fact, Joliet has over one hundred restaurants! If you’re looking for delicious food, there’s always some to be found here! There are also many events held by the city every year, so there’s always something to do! Joliet is also home to Harriet’s Holywood Casino, the largest casino outside of Chicago. The casino overlooks the Des Plaines River and is six miles from the  Rialto Square Theater. The theater constantly has something on its stage, which was originally built in 1926.

For those with an interest in history, there’s the Joliet Area Historical Museum as well as the Old Joliet Prison. The historical museum has a plethora of exhibits that all go deep into the rich history of the area. Connected to the museum is the Route 66 Welcome Center, which has history and info on the historic route. The Old Joliet Prison is heavily gothic in its architecture, giving it a castle aesthetic. Not only a gorgeous building, but the Joliet Prison was also once the Illinois State Penitentiary. The prison was built in 1831 and saw use begin in 1858 when fifty-three inmates were moved there. However, by 1978 the prison was far over capacity, with almost 2,000 inmates. The prison is most famously known for a fictitious inmate from the movie “The Blues Brothers”, known as “Joliet Jake” Blues. Between all that and the plethora of outdoor recreation options, there’s always something to do in Joliet.
